State Vision News Service Rajouri, Nov. 19 A comprehensive mock exercise on disaster preparedness was conducted today at the District Police Line, Rajouri, under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Khajuria the Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority DDMA . Emphasizing the importance of inter departmental coordination in managing disasters, the ADC highlighted the need for regular training and preparedness to mitigate the impact of calamities. The exercise was conducted by the 13 Battalion National Disaster Response Force NDRF under the leadership of Assistant Commandant Parveen Singh Charak. The program included demonstrations and hands on training on Safety measures during earthquakes, Firefighting techniques, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR , School safety programs, Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue CSSR , Medical First Response MFR , Rope rafting, Use of specialized disaster management equipment The event witnessed active participation from various departments, schools, and organizations, ensuring a collaborative approach to disaster management. Officers present at the mock exercise included: Assistant Director, Forest Protection Force, Assistant Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Executive Engineer, PWD R B , Executive Engineer, JPDCL, Executive Engineer, I FC, Deputy Superintendent of Police, SDRF Civil Defence Home Guard , Chief Warden, Civil Defence Additionally, students and teachers from various institutions, including ANMT Health School Jawahar Nagar , Police Public School Rajouri , and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri , participated in the event.
Representatives from the Health Department, Sheep Husbandry Department, and Animal Husbandry Department were also present, alongside officers from the 225 Field Regiment of the Indian Army and personnel from the Police Line, Rajouri. The exercise served as a critical platform for enhancing disaster response capabilities and raising awareness about safety protocols among citizens and officials alike. Speaking at the event, ADC Rajouri appreciated the efforts of NDRF and all stakeholders, urging continued vigilance and preparedness in the face of potential disasters.
